About

Hey there. My name is Justin. Welcome to my blog.

I began web development in my final year of High School in 2000. A friend introduced me to HTML and Geo Cities. From there I was hooked and have been moving full speed a head ever since.

I began my career probably like a lot of folks trying to break into the industry. I started doing free websites for friends, family, and charities in my area. Anything to get some experience.

In 2002 I decided to commit to web development as a full-time career and enrolled in a web development course at my local community college and graduated in 2004.

Since then I have spent my time as the senior developer for Computerized Business Solutions in the rural town of Kentville in Nova Scotia. At work I designed and manage ASP.NET/MSSQL CMS and CRM applications.

Despite working in an all Microsoft shop I am a Ubuntu Linux user and do fair amount of PHP/MySQL development for personal projects.

Aside from programming I am highly experienced in creating semantic front end systems with XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I have nearly 10 years experience creating graphics in PhotoShop.

More recently I have taken up writing. I enjoy writing about web development, my experiences as a husband and father, and other topics that I am interested in.

My goal for this blog is to provide information about web development and my professional experiences in the industry. I look forward to interacting with you and my readers as we explore the exciting adventure of web development.

Cheers,

Justin
